Smash Or Cuff ("we", "us") sends SMS text messages exclusively for one-time verification and account-security purposes. We never send marketing or promotional SMS messages. This page describes exactly how users opt in, what messages are sent, and how to opt out.
Smash Or Cuff is a dating app available on iOS and Android. SMS messages are sent solely to deliver one-time passcodes (OTPs) that users explicitly request during phone-number login, account sign-up, or account verification.
Consent is obtained directly at the point of action inside the Smash Or Cuff mobile app. The user initiates the flow by tapping "Sign in with Phone Number" on the login screen. The following screen is then displayed:
The exact disclosure text shown to every user before sending is:
"Smash Or Cuff will send you a one-time SMS verification code. By tapping the arrow below, you agree to receive this SMS. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."
The user must tap the send button to request the code. No SMS is sent unless this action is taken — the opt-in is therefore explicit and action-based, initiated 100% by the user.
All messages are transactional one-time passcodes. A representative example:
Messages always include the brand name Smash Or Cuff and a STOP opt-out instruction.
Messages are sent only when a user explicitly requests a verification code. A user will receive at most one SMS per login or verification attempt. There are no recurring or scheduled messages of any kind.
Msg & data rates may apply. Charges depend on the user's mobile carrier plan. Smash Or Cuff does not charge users for SMS messages.
Reply STOP to any Smash Or Cuff SMS to opt out of future messages from this number. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS will be sent. You may also stop receiving SMS messages at any time by using email or social login instead.
